We answer the call of Service Not Self. We are the male and female spouses, grandmothers, mothers, sisters, and direct and adopted female descendants of members of The American Legion. Some of us are veterans ourselves.
We are the American Legion Auxiliary. And we make a difference. You’ll find us in more than 8,000 local communities in the USA and in foreign countries.
Founded in 1919 during the first National Convention of The American Legion, the ALA has grown to be one of the largest veterans support organizations. And we’d love for you to be part of our mission outreach.
When you join the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #100 you gain a community of like-minded individuals who enjoy serving veterans and the community. There are a number of benefits to membership, but one most members report is being surrounded by supportive individuals and feeling good about giving back.
Get in touch with us, or better yet join us for a meeting. Drop us an email to learn more about our unit or visit the national website for full details.
American Legion Auxiliary Badger Girls State (ALABGS), a program sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, is a week-long government and leadership conference for young women in their junior year of high school.
Students (grades 3 to 12) explore the fundamental rights and freedoms we enjoy today. Each year’s contest has a different theme; one student in each category per division is awarded a prize. There is a category for students with special needs.
ALA Units sponsor poppy poster contests in local schools. When schools do not conduct activities, other youth groups, including ALA Junior members, may participate under direct supervision of the local ALA unit.
